Efficient Emotionality
Soccer is like a good movie, that holds the tension and only hints
at what could still come; that, before the fiery finale, leads the
public into confusion or promises a happy end but then causes bitter
tears. Soccer fans therefore are only allowed to savor moments as
long as the movie is still running, to intoxicate themselves with
pictures like those from Wednesday from the Olympic Stadium. Scenes as
if they were painted. Fireworks and a sea of flags, a march of triumph
and the dream of the title. But one may not draw conclusions - the end
of the movie will be shown only in Milan.
